My ASU Educational Experience

As a recent Alabama State University graduate majoring in Communication Radio Television, my experience has been both challenging and rewarding. I look back on my time at ASU with pride and gratitude.

One of the highlights of my time at ASU has been the faculty. The professors in the Communication Radio Television department are some of the best in their field, and they are dedicated to helping their students succeed. They are knowledgeable, approachable, and always willing to go the extra mile to help their students understand difficult concepts or work through challenging assignments.

The coursework in the Communication Radio Television program has been rigorous and comprehensive. I have taken classes in media production, broadcast journalism, media law, and more. These courses have not only helped me develop my technical skills in media production, but also helped me gain a deeper understanding of the role of media in our society and the importance of responsible journalism, marketing, content producing, and branding.

Another aspect of my experience at ASU that I have greatly appreciated is the hands-on learning opportunities. The department offers a number of extracurricular activities that allow students to apply what they have learned in the classroom to real-world situations. For example, I have worked on the production of ASU's student-run radio station, as well as participated in the university's television news program.

These experiences have given me invaluable practical skills and helped me build my portfolio.

ASU has also provided me with opportunities to network and make connections in the industry. The department hosts events and brings in guest speakers from the media industry, providing students with the chance to meet and learn from professionals in the field.

Overall, my experience as a Communication Radio Television major at Alabama State University has been one of growth, learning, and preparation for the future. I feel well-equipped to enter the media industry, and I am grateful for the knowledge, skills, and connections I have gained during my time at ASU.

Internship experience

As an intern at WVAS 90.7 FM radio station, I had an amazing experience learning about radio broadcasting. The station serves the Montgomery, Alabama area, and provides a diverse range of programming, including news, music, and talk shows.

During my internship, I had the opportunity to work closely with the station's staff and get involved in a variety of tasks. I  prepared stories for news broadcasts, assisted with production and editing of audio content, and helped plan and organize events and promotional activities.
I also had the opportunity to learn from experienced radio professionals, who provided guidance and training in various aspects of radio broadcasting. Additionally, I attended training sessions and workshops, which helped me to develop my skills and knowledge in the field.

Overall, my internship at WVAS 90.7 FM radio station was an invaluable experience. I gained hands-on experience in radio broadcasting and made valuable connections in the industry. I would highly recommend this internship to any student interested in pursuing a career in radio broadcasting
